HSC Biology: Modules 5-8

HSC Biology Modules 5-8 is the second volume in a new series written specifically for the NSW Stage 6 syllabus. Student engagement and a rigorous, highly visual approach define this comprehensive new title. It provides a wide range of activities to engage students in working scientifically to develop essential skills in investigation, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

The course explores the diversity of life, from the molecular to the systems level, introducing and exploring content through the use of investigation, modelling, and data and case study analysis. Comprehensive chapter introductions provide students with a checklist of learning objectives, framed by the inquiry question and keyed to the syllabus outcomes and course content. General capabilities and cross curriculum priorities are also built into the activities as appropriate and clearly marked for easy identification. In this Year 12 title, students are encouraged to demonstrate their depth of understanding and there is a greater emphasis on preparing for the HSC examination.
